Split Bearing Housings for Serviceable Shaft Assemblies
Split bearing housings make it possible to service or replace a bearing arrangement without fully dismantling the shaft line. The live collection includes split housing products and related plummer block arrangements, including SN-series references, split UBC housing records and selected auger split-steel housings. It is for housings—not a general seal collection.
Where split housings are useful
Split designs are commonly considered where a shaft passes through a machine and access is limited, such as conveyor, agricultural and plant-maintenance applications. They can reduce dismantling time, but only when the housing, bearing and seals are selected as a compatible system. Match the original designation and confirm shaft size, bearing series, housing mounting dimensions, lubrication provision and sealing arrangement.
Read the product reference carefully
The live range includes both active and draft UBC products, as well as currently published SN-series plummer block housings. Draft products are not available for customer purchase until activated. Do not assume an SN or split-housing reference is identical to another series with a similar bore: covers, locating rings, seals, bolt pattern and bearing fit can all differ.
Selection checklist
- Confirm the full housing and bearing designation from the existing unit.
- Measure the shaft and record whether the bore is metric or imperial.
- Check the mounting base, centre height and bolt centres.
- Verify seals, grease fittings and any locating components.
- For auger or agricultural equipment, match the original housing construction and application rather than selecting by bore alone.

Frequently asked questions
Can every plummer block be replaced with a split housing?
No. A split housing needs to be compatible with the shaft, bearing, mounting geometry and machine design. Use the complete original reference and installation dimensions to confirm suitability.
Why are some products marked draft?
Draft products are catalogued but not yet available on the storefront. They remain excluded from normal customer purchasing until their product status is activated.
Do split housings include the bearing and seals?
Contents vary by reference. Check the individual listing to see exactly what is included and contact Industrial Shed with the existing marking if you need help matching the complete assembly.
