What Is Brass Shim Stock?

Shim stock is controlled-thickness material from which the finished shim can be prepared to suit the assembly.

Shop Aid brass shim stock is made from Alloy 260 half-hard brass & supplied across multiple thicknesses & stock dimensions. Depending on the selected product, the range provides shorter material or longer roll stock for preparing custom profiles.

That makes it different from a pre-cut shim. Instead of receiving a predetermined outline, the fitter can establish the finished dimensions, openings, fastener clearances & contact area around the actual component.
