Load Restraint
Secure cargo, equipment and materials with load-restraint products selected for the load, transport method and anchorage arrangement. This collection helps workshop, trade, fleet and site customers find straps, chains, restraints and supporting hardware for practical, compliant load control.
Start with the load and tie-down plan
Consider the load mass, shape, centre of gravity, deck surface, anchor points, route and potential movement under braking or cornering. Select equipment with an appropriate lashing capacity and use the required number and arrangement of restraints. Related products can be found in lifting chain, wire rope and fittings and shackles and turnbuckles.
Use and inspection
Inspect webbing for cuts, abrasion, contamination and damaged stitching; inspect chains, hooks and tensioners for wear, cracks and deformation. Keep straps away from sharp edges or use suitable protection. Do not use damaged, unlabelled or incorrectly rated restraint equipment.
Frequently asked questions
Is a higher-capacity strap always the best choice?
Capacity is important, but the full restraint plan also depends on anchor points, angles, edge protection and the number of restraints. Choose equipment that suits the load and use it as directed.
Can lifting equipment be used as load restraint?
Not automatically. Lifting and restraint equipment can have different design, marking and intended-use requirements. Use each product only for the application stated by its manufacturer.
