Bremick ViewTite Self-Indicating Washer M36 (Box of 50)

A box of 50 Bremick ViewTite self-indicating washers for M36 structural bolts. ViewTite is a direct tension indicator (DTI) that does the inspection for you: once the bolt reaches minimum tension, a bright green elastomer is squeezed out of the washer. Green means go. Developed by Bremick and TurnaSure, ViewTite is manufactured to ASTM F959M and suits bolted structural steel connections to AS 4100.

  • Green elastomer appears only when the bolt has reached minimum required tension, for fast visual inspection
  • Patented curved protrusions compress smoothly and evenly as bolt tension rises
  • Elastomer sits on the top face against the hardened washer, so surface finish and oversize holes in the steel don't affect the result
  • Elastomer glows under UV (black) light for night-time and low-light inspection
  • Unique trace number on every washer. Certification is available on the Bremick website by job number or trace number
  • Direct tension indication is an accepted tensioning method under AS/NZS 5131. Torque wrench tensioning is not permitted

► How To Use

  • Pre-installation: test three samples of each diameter, length and heat number combination in a bolt tension calibration device, using the same crew and tools. Results should show at least 1.05 times the AS 4100 minimum bolt tension.
  • Fit the ViewTite under the component being turned, usually the nut. If it goes under the bolt head, add an AS/NZS 1252 structural washer under the ViewTite.
  • Bring every bolt in the connection to snug-tight first. The elastomer does not release during snug-tightening.
  • Tension each bolt until the green elastomer is clearly visible and matches your reference sample, verified with a feeler gauge.
  • Tensioning must be carried out by a competent person. Always work to the full AS/NZS 5131 standard and the project specification.
