Bremick Direct Tension Indicator Washer Galvanised M24 (Box of 350)

A box of 350 Bremick direct tension indicator (DTI) washers, M24, galvanised. A DTI is a hardened washer with raised protrusions that flatten as the bolt is tensioned. Checking the remaining gap with a feeler gauge confirms the bolt has reached its required minimum tension. Direct tension indication is one of the two tensioning methods AS/NZS 5131 accepts for high-strength structural bolting, alongside part-turn. Torque wrench tensioning is not permitted.

► Tensioning Notes

  • AS/NZS 5131 accepts two methods for tensioning high-strength structural bolts: part-turn, and direct tension indication.
  • Torque wrench tensioning is not permitted, because thread condition, lubrication and galvanising make the torque-to-tension relationship unreliable.
  • Bring every bolt in the connection to snug-tight before final tensioning.
  • Tensioning must be carried out by a competent person. Always work to the full standard and the project specification.
