Manufactured from premium HSS-Co5 (cobalt-enhanced) steel, this spiral point (gun nose) tap delivers superior hardness, longer tool life and reliable performance in demanding materials such as stainless steel, high tensile alloy and medium tensile steels — ideal for workshop, fabrication and industrial threading tasks.

The spiral point (gun nose) design features straight flutes with angular cutting faces at the lead that efficiently shear metal and propel chips forward, keeping the flutes clear and allowing coolant to reach the cutting edges more effectively. This design produces a fine thread finish and stronger tool cross-section, with excellent chip control in through-hole applications. Metric coarse taps have a **60° thread angle**, flat crest and clearance at the root for strong internal-to-external thread engagement and improved thread strength.
