The Bordo 3/4" x 14 BSPT Bottoming HSS Tap is a robust pipe-threading tool from Bordo’s High Speed Steel (HSS) BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper / RC Series) range, engineered to cut accurate internal tapered threads with full thread depth. Ideal for plumbing, fluid systems and mechanical coupling applications where a strong, sealed connection is essential, this bottoming tap completes threads right to the base of blind holes for maximum engagement.

Manufactured from premium high speed steel, this 3/4" diameter tap features a 14 threads-per-inch (TPI) BSPT thread form based on the Whitworth V-thread profile (55° angle) and a “1 in 16” taper — meaning the diameter increases as the taper lengthens to help form a thread seal when tightened. Bottoming taps have a short lead (two threads) to minimise thread run-out, making this tool the final tap in a multi-step threading sequence after taper and intermediate taps. Designed for hand or general machine use, it performs reliably in medium tensile materials such as brass, aluminium and mild steel.
