Designed to meet trade-level threading standards, this bottoming tap delivers reliable performance when cutting internal British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) threads with full thread depth — essential for sealing and mechanical coupling applications.

Manufactured from premium High Speed Steel (HSS), the 3048-1.1/2B features a bottoming lead that enables full thread depth cutting in blind or through holes. BSPT threads conform to the RC Series Pipe Taper with a symmetrical Whitworth-based 55° V-thread profile and taper of 1:16, providing a mechanical seal as male and female pipe threads are tightened. This tap is suitable for use in medium tensile materials and can be used with hand tools or general light machine threading equipment.
