Manufactured from durable high speed steel, this BA tap set features the 0 × 1 BA thread form with a 1 mm pitch — part of the British Association series originally adopted for precision instruments, clocks and specialised equipment due to its fine thread geometry and smooth engagement. BA threads have a rounded crest and root with a 47.5° included thread angle for strong engagement and excellent fit in small components. Taper taps provide easy thread starts, intermediate taps cut threads true to the pilot hole and bottoming taps complete full-depth threads even in blind holes.
