The Bordo 4G x 48 UNF Intermediate HSS Tap is a precision threading tool from Bordo’s High Speed Steel (HSS) hand and machine tap range, engineered for cutting fine Unified National Fine (UNF) internal threads with accuracy and durability. Designed for general purpose threading applications, this intermediate tap offers a balanced lead for true, consistent thread formation in a variety of medium tensile materials.

Manufactured from premium high speed steel, this 4G diameter tap features a 48 threads-per-inch (TPI) UNF profile — ideal where fine thread engagement and increased tensile stress area are required. The UNF thread form provides excellent resistance to thread stripping, especially in applications where wall thickness is limited or fine pitch is necessary. Intermediate taps have a lead of four threads, offering a smooth cut true to the pre-drilled pilot hole, and are suitable for both hand and general machine use in materials such as aluminium, brass and mild steel.
