The Bordo 5/16″ × 22 BSF Intermediate HSS Tap is a professional British Standard Fine (BSF) intermediate hand and machine threading tap engineered to produce strong, accurate internal threads in medium tensile materials. Part of Bordo’s BSF tap range, this intermediate tap is designed for general purpose threading, delivering clean thread profiles and reliable performance in workshop and trade environments.

Manufactured from durable High Speed Steel (HSS), this tap features the traditional BSF thread form — originally introduced in 1908 and specified in BS84:1956 — which offers finer threading with increased tensile stress area and greater resistance to stripping compared with coarser thread series. The intermediate lead (four threads) cuts true threads in a pre-drilled pilot hole and is suitable for hand tapping or general machine use.
