Ideal for workshop, fabrication and general industrial applications, this intermediate tap produces strong and true internal BSW threads from pre-drilled pilot holes with dependable performance.

Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with the traditional BSW thread form — featuring a 55° thread angle and rounded roots and crests developed by Sir Joseph Whitworth — this tap is designed to handle general purpose threading tasks with smooth engagement and reliable results. Intermediate taps have a four-thread lead, enabling them to cut accurate and well-formed threads in metals and other machinable materials.
