The Bordo 7 × 1 mm MC Bottoming HSS Tap is part of Bordo’s professional Metric Coarse (MC) tapping range, engineered for precision threading right to the bottom of blind holes in workshop, fabrication and on-site applications. Bottoming taps are used after a taper or intermediate tap to minimise thread run-out and ensure accurate thread engagement throughout the hole.

Manufactured from premium High-Speed Steel (HSS), this tap features a 7 mm diameter with a 1 mm pitch and a 60° metric coarse thread form. The flat crest with clearance at the root promotes strong engagement between internal and external threads, while the larger root radius and lower thread height enhance chip control and thread strength. With a bottoming lead (two threads), this tap is designed to cut full-depth threads in medium tensile materials such as steel, aluminium and plastics — suitable for both hand and general machine tapping.
