Bottoming taps are typically used after an initial taper or intermediate tap to achieve full thread depth and minimal thread run-out — essential for precision threading jobs in workshop, maintenance and on-site environments.

Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS), this tap features a 60° metric coarse thread form with a flat crest and root clearance that ensures strong engagement between internal and external threads. The larger root radius and reduced thread height improve thread strength and make cutting easier. With a bottoming lead (two threads), this tap is designed specifically to finish threads at full depth in blind holes. It’s suitable for use in medium tensile materials including steel, aluminium and plastics, and can be used by hand or in general machine applications.
