The Bordo 3.5 × 0.6 mm MC Bottoming HSS Tap is part of Bordo’s professional Metric Coarse (MC) hand and machine tapping range, engineered for precision internal thread cutting right to the bottom of blind holes. Designed for tradespeople and technicians working in workshop and on-site applications, this bottoming tap provides maximum thread engagement with minimal run-out — ideal for finishing threads started with a taper or intermediate tap.

Manufactured from premium High-Speed Steel (HSS), this tap features a 3.5 mm diameter with a 0.6 mm pitch and a 60° metric coarse thread form — offering excellent wear resistance, long tool life and strong thread engagement. The flat crest and root clearance design improve chip flow and mating thread engagement, while a larger root radius and lower thread height help improve thread strength. Bottoming taps like this have a reduced lead (two threads) to minimise thread run-out and reach full depth in blind holes, making them essential for finishing internal metric coarse threads.
