The Bordo 16 x 2 mm MC Bottoming HSS Tap is a professional-grade metric coarse bottoming tap engineered to produce clean, fully formed internal threads with minimal run-out at the bottom of blind holes. Part of Bordo’s high-speed steel (HSS) hand and machine tap range, this tool is tailored for workshop, maintenance and on-site threading tasks in medium tensile materials such as steel, aluminium and plastics. Bottoming taps are commonly used after a taper or intermediate tap to complete the thread to the bottom of the hole.

Manufactured from premium high-speed steel, this bottoming tap features a 60° metric coarse thread profile with a flat crest and generous root clearance, allowing solid engagement between the internal and external thread. The larger root radius and reduced thread height provide improved thread strength and smoother cutting action. With a drill diameter of approximately 14.25 mm and overall length of about 102 mm, this tap is suitable for both hand and general machine tapping in a variety of materials.
