Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS), this intermediate tap features a 60° metric coarse thread form with a tap lead of four threads — making it suitable for cutting threads true to a pre-drilled pilot hole. The flat crest and root clearance design promote strong engagement between internal and external threads, while the larger root radius and reduced thread height improve thread strength and cutting ease. This makes the 1.7 mm × 0.35 mm tap ideal for use in medium tensile materials including steels, aluminium and plastics in both hand and general machine tapping tasks.
