Spill pallets and containment for controlled fluid storage
Industrial Shed’s Spill Pallets & Containment range is built for workshops, depots, service vehicles and plant rooms where oils, lubricants, coolants and other compatible liquids need a deliberate secondary-containment solution. The collection brings together the active Alemlube range currently available in store: an IBC spill pallet with hard cover and one-, two- and four-drum spill containers, including inline and EL-series configurations.
These products are not general storage pallets. A spill pallet or drum container is selected to help contain a leak from the primary container, keep a work area orderly and support a site’s own spill-response procedures. Always confirm the liquid compatibility, required containment volume, local environmental obligations, load, access method and whether rainwater protection is required before purchasing.
Choose the containment format around the container you actually use
IBC spill pallet with hard cover
The Alemlube HC1-YE-YE is the focused choice in this collection for an intermediate bulk container. Its hard-cover format is suited to locations where the IBC needs protection from debris or weather exposure while remaining part of a managed storage arrangement. Check the IBC footprint, handling route, bunding requirement and access for dispensing equipment before committing to a layout.
Single- and multi-drum spill containers
The one-drum, two-drum and four-drum Alemlube spill containers provide more targeted options for drums used in maintenance bays, lubrication rooms and service stores. The In-Line 4 Drum Spill Container is useful where a longer footprint works better than a square layout; the EL Series variants give another dedicated two- and four-drum configuration. Select by the number and style of drums being stored, not simply by the space available on the floor.
Plan the work area, not just the product
Allow clear access for drum handling, dispensing and inspection. Keep incompatible materials separate, retain labels and safety data, and make sure the containment setup does not obstruct walkways, emergency equipment or forklift routes. What to check before ordering
-
Container type and quantity: match the unit to an IBC, one drum, two drums or four drums.
-
Footprint and access: confirm the unit fits the installation area and allows safe handling around it.
-
Liquid compatibility: review the product documentation and the chemical’s safety data before use.
-
Site requirement: confirm your required containment capacity and any local or customer-site standards.
-
Operating environment: consider covered versus exposed storage, drainage control and housekeeping needs.
Frequently asked questions
Can an IBC spill pallet be used for drums?
An IBC unit should be selected for the IBC it is designed to support. For drum storage, use a dedicated one-, two- or four-drum spill container so the footprint, handling arrangement and containment setup match the primary containers.
Is a spill pallet a substitute for checking chemical compatibility?
No. Secondary containment does not remove the need to confirm that the product is suitable for the liquid stored, its operating conditions and your site’s procedures. Review the chemical safety data and the supplier documentation before installation.
Which drum spill container should I choose?
Start with the number of drums that must be stored together, then assess floor space, handling access and whether an inline layout is more practical than a compact format. If the application is unusual or site-controlled, obtain confirmation from the site manager or a qualified safety adviser.
