Industrial Bearings and Bearing Housings
Industrial Shed supplies bearings and mounted-bearing solutions for maintenance, manufacturing, agricultural, mining, materials-handling and power-transmission applications. This parent collection helps customers move from the application to the correct bearing family, then compare the dimensions, internal design, sealing, clearance and mounting arrangement required for the job.
The range includes recognised bearing brands such as SKF, FAG and CRAB, with additional brands available across specific series. Brand availability and country of manufacture vary by product. For critical machinery, identify the complete bearing designation and confirm the manufacturer’s current technical data before ordering.
Choose the correct bearing family
-
Deep-groove ball bearings are widely used for radial load with moderate axial load capability, subject to the selected series and operating conditions.
-
Angular-contact and thrust bearings are designed for applications where axial load direction and arrangement matter.
-
Spherical and toroidal roller bearings support demanding radial loads and can accommodate misalignment or axial displacement according to their design.
-
Tapered roller bearings carry combined radial and axial loads and normally require the correct cone-and-cup pairing and adjustment.
-
Needle roller bearings provide high radial capacity in a compact section where shaft and housing conditions are suitable.
-
Mounted bearings and housings combine an insert bearing with a plummer block, flange or take-up housing for practical machine installation.

Read the designation carefully
A bearing number can encode the basic series, bore, seals or shields, internal clearance, cage, tolerance and other design features. Similar-looking suffixes are not automatically interchangeable. Confirm the full designation from the removed component, machine manual or approved engineering specification.
Dimensions and fit
Check bore diameter, outside diameter and width, then confirm shoulder diameters, fillet radii and available installation space. Shaft and housing fits influence internal clearance, running accuracy, heat generation and service life. Interference fits, temperature differences and operating speed can reduce the bearing’s effective internal clearance.
Sealing, lubrication and operating environment
- Select open, shielded or sealed designs according to contamination, speed and relubrication requirements.
- Match grease or oil to bearing type, speed, load, temperature and compatibility requirements.
- Consider moisture, dust, washdown, chemicals, vibration and electrical-current risk.
- For mounted units, confirm housing material, insert locking method, seal arrangement and grease access.
Do not mix greases unless compatibility has been confirmed. Over-lubrication can cause heat and seal damage, while insufficient or contaminated lubricant can rapidly shorten service life.
Load, speed and service-life considerations
Dynamic and static load ratings are comparison values, not stand-alone guarantees of service life. Bearing selection should account for actual radial and axial loads, duty cycle, speed, shock, alignment, temperature, lubrication, contamination and required reliability. High-load, high-speed or safety-critical applications should be checked by a qualified bearing or mechanical specialist.
Installation and maintenance
Use clean tools and apply mounting force only through the ring being fitted. Never transmit installation force through the rolling elements. Check shafts, housings, seals and lubricant condition before installation, and monitor temperature, noise and vibration after commissioning.
If the old bearing number is incomplete, provide the machine details, measured bore, outside diameter and width, load direction, speed, environment and any visible suffixes. Industrial Shed can assist with identification and comparison, with final suitability confirmed against the manufacturer’s data and equipment requirements.
